Murder mysteries and serial killers have been Riverdale‘s bread and butter from the start, so it’d be a shame if we didn’t get to unmask one last bad guy in the final episodes. The annual musical episode is another cherished Riverdale tradition we wouldn’t mind seeing revived for one last curtain call - and since Season 7 takes place in the ’50s, maybe Grease is the word this time? We know he can’t return, but we’d love to see Archie pay tribute to his late dad in the final season - because his genuine bond with Fred was where the heart of Riverdale truly lied. Perry’s untimely death in 2019 not only robbed Riverdale of a beloved actor, but also of a rock-solid father figure who helped ground the series amid all its surreal and campy flourishes. So while we wait for Riverdale to kick off its swan song, we’re jotting down all the things we’re really hoping to see for Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and company in the final episodes. (C’mon, we’ve been loyal viewers for six seasons now all we’re asking for here is a little closure.) We’re talking unresolved love triangles, dead characters who may not actually be dead and the fate of a few notable former residents, just for starters. Despite the time-bending twist, though, we have a lot of burning questions and lingering mysteries that we need to see resolved by the time the final credits roll. The final season will find Archie and the gang living in the gee-golly 1950s, with only Jughead aware that they’ve somehow been zapped through time. The CW drama’s upcoming Season 7 will be its last, with a premiere set for Wednesday, March 29 at 9/8c and the series finale slated for Aug. Riverdale is saying goodbye this year… but there are quite a few loose ends that still need to be tied up before Pop’s closes up shop for good.
